About Us

Hi, my name is Jan Gough, founder of DogwerX.  I am a fully qualified member of the IMDT, Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, and have gained an accreditation in Dog Training and Behaviour OCN level III.  Using modern reward based methods to train our canine companions for the field and for the home.

You may or may not be interested in taking your gundog out on a shoot, but understanding the gundog breed instincts will help you get the best out of your dog.  To have a happy, well behaved dog out on walks, and be able to find and retrieve items in a more structured way.   You will learn voice, hand and whistle commands, how to walk on a loose lead, how to recall your dog, how to set up and train retrieve exercises, to understand scent, hunting skills and much more. 

We train dogs and handlers of all ages and experience.   

Puppies can start from 12 weeks of age.

At DogwerX we build good basic foundation skills to lead into beginner and novice gundog training, expanding experience into intermediate skills and progressing to more advanced sessions
